B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A6 Music System Multiroom Wireless Home Speaker Product Review
Now look here, we have nothing against buying cheap and okay quality speakers that have a decent sound range. For some people as long as it works, it is acceptable. There are those however that won’t settle for anything less than perfection. For them, okay isn’t good enough and decent is the same as bad. They have clear goals and very high standards which are not easily met. They understand that quality has its price and won’t hesitate to shell it out if it means getting the best of the best.
In the elite circles Bang & Olufsen is no newcomer. It is known to produce audio systems for brands such as Bentley and Rolls Royce so you can be rest assured that they know what they’re doing when it comes to audio. When they introduced the Beoplay A6 music system we were skeptical, at first glance it seemed like just another wireless speaker but oh boy is this so much more than that. The Beoplay is in fact a multiroom system that is fully capable of playing nicely with current technology with no additional equipment. The design is exquisite and simply screams of luxury but not in a posh way. Instead it is tasteful, not being too needy of attention. Simplistic design with a fabric cover and a single stitching through it is all you see, but the absolutely tiny name badge immediately gives away the heritage of this device, telling you that you’re about to hear what can only be described as angelic incantations.
Tradition doesn’t mean that the Beoplay is lacking in technology. It is fully wireless and not only via Bluetooth as most today’s wireless speakers. Instead it goes a step beyond incorporating WLAN 802.11b/g/n, both 2.4 and 5ghz frequencies, Apple Airplay, DLNA Wireless streaming and of course, Bluetooth 4. Whatever protocol you’re familiar with, the Beoplay will play along with it. The flexible design of this five channel speaker will fit just at home anywhere you place it and won’t stick out like a sore thumb. When you’re ready to enjoy the absolute pinnacle of audio, all you need is to activate it via your app or even with voice control, because the Beoplay is fully compatible with Alexa Echo Dot.
Bang & Olufsen has really gone a step beyond with the Beoplay in order to make sure that it isn’t a desperate scream for attention and instead put the focus on audio quality, as it was always supposed to be. If you’re the person that would dress in flashy red and green colors with gold colored shoes for a dinner out then please look away, this isn’t for you. Instead it is made for the gentleman that would wear a bespoke suit and be chauffeured around in his Bentley which was just flown in on his private jet. It takes a person with refined taste to appreciate something like the Beoplay and luckily they are plentiful even though you don’t see them every day.
